10 Delicious and Healthy Recipes to Try This Week
Okay so, eating healthy… yeah people think its boring, tasteless and all that, but honestly it’s not, like you can make really tasty food that’s good for you too, you just need some ideas and a bit of time, nothing crazy. Most people freak out thinking healthy means just salads and boiled stuff, but really it can be fun, and actually satisfying if you know what you’re doing. So here’s some ideas for the week, some stuff you can make quick and still feel like a proper meal.
Quinoa is like my go-to, its full of protein and fiber so it actually keeps you full for longer and not hungry in an hour like usual. I usually mix it with stuff like cherry tomatoes, cucumber, bell peppers, onions whatever I have around and then just toss it with olive oil, lemon juice and some herbs like parsley or mint if I have, sometimes i forget the mint but still tastes good. It’s super easy honestly and looks kinda fancy too but takes like ten minutes to do, so perfect if you dont have much time.
Salmon is another thing I like, it has those omega-3 fats that are supposed to be good for your heart or whatever, and it’s actually really yummy when baked. I just rub it with olive oil, garlic, rosemary and thyme and throw it in the oven, then maybe some broccoli or roasted sweet potatoes on the side and boom, dinner done, no fancy chef skills required.
Chickpea and spinach curry is really filling too, especially if you don’t want meat. You fry onions, garlic, ginger, then add canned tomatoes, chickpeas and fresh spinach, add some spices like cumin, coriander, turmeric and a little chili if you feel like it. Serve it with rice or roti, and its actually a proper meal, like you won’t be starving an hour later.
Breakfast can be boring sometimes but greek yogurt with berries is nice and simple, I usually just layer it with granola and honey too, looks kinda fancy but takes literally 2 minutes, and the yogurt has protein, berries have antioxidants, granola is crunchy, what more do you want honestly.
Zucchini noodles are great if you’re trying to cut carbs or whatever, just sauté them a little in olive oil then toss with pesto, maybe throw in cherry tomatoes or chicken if you want. It’s light but satisfying and tastes way better than you expect, i swear.
Lentil soup is like comfort food, cook lentils with carrots, celery, onions, garlic, add some herbs and bay leaf and done, smells amazing while cooking too, like your whole kitchen smells like you know a proper meal is coming.
Avocado toast, everyone talks about it, but its actually really good. Mash avocado on whole grain bread, add a poached egg, sprinkle some salt pepper lemon juice, maybe chili flakes if you’re fancy. Breakfast done, doesn’t even take long.
Grilled chicken with quinoa and veggies is great for dinner, marinate chicken with olive oil, garlic, paprika, lemon juice, grill it, serve with quinoa and some veggies. You can make extra and keep for a few days too, saves time and still healthy.
Overnight oats is lifesaver if you have no mornings, mix oats with almond milk, chia seeds, honey, leave in fridge overnight, top with banana or almonds in the morning, you’re set, fiber and protein and you’re not snacking before lunch.
Buddha bowls are fun too, roast some sweet potatoes, zucchini, bell peppers, carrots, serve over rice or quinoa, chickpeas, avocado and some tahini if you have, honestly you can throw whatever veggies you want, its still gonna taste good.
So yeah eating healthy doesn’t mean eating boring food, just try new stuff, don’t stress about perfection, even if it looks messy its okay, as long as it tastes good and makes you feel full. You’ll see, it can actually be fun, and you don’t need hours to cook every day. Just start small and figure it out as you go.
